DIY: Setup a Hauling Truck

By Darnell Austria

Building your own personal trailer that will move your motorcycle comfortably is one great way to travel with your bike in one piece and buckled tightly as you settle back and relish the landscape. After all, you want to keep the chrome and paint fresh and spotless. Correct?

This particular build can certainly transport about three motorcycles in a good trailer and that's exactly what we need, to maximize the availability of space or room. The entire operation takes little time and physical ability; the results are amazing even on a small trailer like ours.

Step 1: Start off by sawing several lengths of E-track to be used for your D-ring fasteners to support the bike down.

Step 2: The E-track is going to be attached to the wood floor of the truck; some people like to have several bolt through with a nut on the underside.

Step 3: When in position on both ends of the trailer the E-track will offer several installation spots of the D-rings to make sure that any length motorcycle can be lodged.

Step 4: After that, label the area you'd like the removable chocks and mark the spot where the mounting padding will be installed.

Step 5: These do get go through mounting bolts with washers and lock nuts.

Step 6: This is a great view at the tabs which are on the bottom of the chocks and how they glide in the receivers.

Step 7: Use only two sets of mounting hardware to ensure either a thin chock, for a thin 21 " wheel, or a broad one, for a fat wheel fastener may be utilized.

Step 8: The front tire of the 1949 motorcycle is is mounted in the slim chock, this is basically the perfect fit and will not let the slim tire loose.

Step 9: Next, are the strap racks. Using a carrier that makes stuff sorted out is a nice way to make certain absolutely nothing gets lost and to keep your truck neat and tidy.

That's it; an easy approach to build a lifting trailer regardless if there's only a little space. It only takes a handful of supplies together with a little bit of time and energy, and you'll accomplish it in not time. You could carry nearly every motorbike with this setup. This is great for moving old classic motorbikes since you know how delicate they may be and securing them this way is the greatest technique of doing it.

As always, just before we head out and split up, be sure you "constantly" use protective apparel when driving a motorbike. Whether you happen to be making your way to another state or maybe around the corner, you will not know in the event that a vehicle accident would possibly happen. Check out this awesome video of a top quality German motorcycle helmet that's also the toughest sold on the market. Enjoy your travels and safety is always number one.
